Sounds like a blighted ovum to me...although I am not a doctor...I would be adamant that I speak with the doctor considering that you might have a situation which warrants medical care...Also, I'd go in for another ultrasound and have the doctor do it so he can tell you exactly what he sees and the implications. The squeaky wheel gets the grease! Keep calling because this needs to be dealt with!
and the comments with an ectopic- and ectopic is when the entire pregnancy attaches itself to some other place other than you uterus... you would not have a gestional sac in your endo at all, you endo may be thick, but that is it.. the baby doesnt go say to your ovary and the sac hit you uterus, they are together.
Hello, I am an ultrasound tech, I was pregnant for the third time and i had taken about 6 test's a well all positive, however, i would scan my self and nothing, everyone kept saying i may be early than what i think well for 2 reason i knew i wasnt early than I thought one b/c i had taken a test like 1 week after my first missed period and it was postive and two, my periods are dead to the day when i will get it. So when i went to my doc he scanned my and I had a gestional sac that fit 11 weeks, what i should of been, but no baby, so later on I went to the doc for my hcg levels it was 64000, that's high for that time, the doc came in and said you just wrong on your dates, i know where going to see a baby....no baby, he had me get an immediate D & E....b/c the levels of hcg were so high, i probably had a molar pregancy or blighted ovum... with those, your level keep growing, you keep getting the prego pukes and everything, the placenta can even develope... just no baby... you NEED to get a hold of you doc ASAP!
the same thing happened to me over 2 years ago and i had a molar pregnancy. ask your dr about this when he calls!!
adding onto the last post. i submitted to early.
anyways. With my ectopic I had severe pain that favored my right side. Have you had any pain at all? I also had on and off again bleeding. My midwife check my HCG levels every 48-72 hours. my levels were going up, but not doubling. Also sometimes during an ectopic pregnancy, you will have no syptoms. You should have you doc. do an HCG. ectopic's can sometimes be life threatening.
Hopefully you are just early on. good luck to you. I hope that everything turns out in your favor.
I had a blighted ovum a little over a year ago. Same thing no baby. Just an empty sac.
Then in late march, I got preg. again & I had an ectopic pregnancy. ( i seen that This discussion is related to I'm pregnant and no baby - ectopic?.
It could be that you got pregnant way later than you expected. Just because your last period was in March does not mean you didn't conceive recently. Your period does not determine when you ovulate at all. You will ovulate due to hormonal changes, not because of a previous period.
Hopefully everything is fine and that you're just not as far along as you thought because that could explain it. If it was ectopic, you'd be in excrutiating pain.
OR, you could be very early in pregnancy and just not had a period for a couple mo. for some reason....
Were your periods regular? If not that could be a key.. have a QUANTATIVE HCG test to check your HCG levels, and then have another 2 days later to find out if your levels are doubling. That's the best way to gauge how far along you are.
