TSH AND LEVEL CHANGES

JUST A NOTE... I TOO HAVE HASHIMOTOS...WHEN MY TSH LEVELS ARE IN THE HIGH OR LOW END OF THE LABS NORMAL REFERENCE RANGE ...I HAVE MUSCLE WEAKNESS AND PAIN IN MY LOWER LEGS...ALONG WITH OTHER SYMPTOMS...MY IDEAL IS BETWEEN 1.0 -2.5  I AM NOW AT 0.42 AND FEEL TIRED FATIGUED MUSCLE PAIN WEAKNESS, MOOD CHANGES HUNGRY BILAT LOWER EXTREMITY SWELLING. AND IRRITATED DRY EYES. I KEEP A LOG OF MY LEVELS AND MED DOSEAGES WITH ANY SYMPTOMS.  I WAS DIAGNOSED IN 2004...TOOK 2 YEARS TO LEVEL OFF. I WAS GOOD FOR A YR. THEN MY LEVELS CHANGED AGAIN.  I AM STILL ADJUSTING THEM... CK Q 3-6 MONTHS.  THE DOCTOR EXPLAINED THAT THE THYROID WAS STILL IN THE PROCESS OF DESTROYING ITSELF AND EVENTUALLY IT WILL NOT WORK AT ALL WHICH HE FEELS IS GETTING CLOSE. IN THE BEGINNING I HAD SYMPTOMS WITH HIGH NORMAL TSH LEVELS BUT WITH ANTIBODIES OFF THE CHART.  HE SAID WE DIAGNOSED THE CONDITION IN THE EARLY STAGES.  BEING THIS IS AN AUTOIMMUNE DISEASE IT MAY TAKE A WHILE FOR THE THYROID TO COMPLETELY BE DYSFUNCTIONAL.    I HOPE THIS HELPS OTHERS OUT THERE WITH SIMILAR ISSUES.

This discussion is related to HELP! I have Hashimoto's with a TSH of 0.01 and feel TIRED!!!.

With Hashi your TSH will spike up and down often at times.  Your antibosies are attacking the gland and will turn everything upside down until they level off.

Did you have any antibody testing done?

Ideally - you stated you know where you feel your best at in your TSH.

That's good - most do not know where their ideal is.

I feel my best around a 0.04 which is very low - but it wears on me at times too.
