You do NOT have to pay extra for a good IOL. Medicare pays for a variety of high quality monofocal IOLs. If you don't mind wearing glasses after cataract surgery then there is no reason to pay extra for the extra cost of multifocal IOL. Use the search feature to read about the many discussions of the benefits/liabilities multifocal IOLs.
And I would suggest getting a second opinion about the need for surgery and the type of IOL. You should not feel pressured or be pressured into spending the extra money on a multifocal IOL.

See another doctor! You would probably have better vision with SN60WF lenses (AcrySof IQs) set for blended vision (distance in dominant eye, intermediate in nondominant eye) than you'd get with ReStor. And you'd almost certainly have fewer problems post-surgery.

Recently doctor use SN60WF in my mother's right eye.But after 26 days her vision was not stable and things are not looking well. please tell the reason.
