Update from L&D

Well ladies I had to take a trip to L&D on Sunday night and that's why I haven't been on here. Well it started at about 9 that evening. I was having really bad period cramps that were so painful they were stopping me in my tracks. I called the nurse line to see what I needed to do and she told me to go straight to L&D to get monitored. Hubby and me get in the car and drive to the hospital. The nurses hook me up to monitors and start asking a million and one questions. I was having some pain and discomfort but not like at home so I thought maybe it was just bh contractions. Little did I know I was having contractions every 3 minutes. So, they decided to check me and see if I was dilating and I was only 1cm dilated. I was there for over 5 hours on watch until finally they gave me some meds to stop the contractions. They said the contractions were persistent(sp) but my cervix wasn't dilating. That's a good thing I still have 2 weeks until my scheduled c-section. Well after the shot they monitored me for about an hour and the contractions had stopped so they sent me home to follow up with doctor today. I woke up yesterday feeling like I had been rain over by a train, I was so sore. I took it easy yesterday, everytime I got up to try and do something I'd start cramping and feel lots of pressure. I feel pretty good today, I came to work but if I start feeling badly they're going to send me home. I work a desk job so I'm sitting down most of the day. I'm still having contractions but they're about 20-30 minutes apart. Not too painful. Well I hope everyone else is still holding strong. I go to the doctor today so I'll give and update on how that goes. I'm more than ready to meet my little booger but I want him to stay in there as long as possible to be healthy.

AHHH..I hate that....I had to have a D&C last Dec. b/c we lost twins and I had the male OB and he was more or less like, "It happens all the time"....and telling me this and that...I know that he's the Dr. and all but I felt like screaming, "WHEN'S THE LAST TIME YOU EVEN HAD A PERIOD...OR A VAGINA FOR THAT MATTER!"....LOL.  I totally know what you mean...
I'll keep my fingers crossed for you that something more happens this weekend......You could always use a crochet hook and break your own water!  KIDDING!  My friend was just telling me yesterday that when she was 37 weeks she was begging her Mom to do it for her!  haha!
Be sure to keep us updated!

I've never been this frustrated in my life. I asked my doctor why he wouldn't just go ahead and do the surgery. He said that he likes to wait until 38 weeks and he doesn't see any reason to do it early, they can continue to give those shots until my water breaks or I guess he just falls out!!! LOL j/k. My little booger is ready to meet the world but doc won't let him. I'm really hoping that my water will break this weekend and I can go ahead and have this baby. My body is so exhausted!!! I can feel him very low and if I walk around too much he'll give me a jab just to remind me he's there. Oh yeah and my doctor told me at my last appt which was tuesday that I just need to tough it out. CAN YOU BELIEVE THAT HE HAS THE NERVE TO SAY SUCH A THING, OMG!!!! I WANTED TO SCREAM AT HIM AND ASK HIM HOW MANY CHILDREN HAVE YOU CARRIED FOR DAMN NEAR 10 MONTHS. Well lucky I don't have much to go and he'll for sure be here. So, how is everything going for you?

How frustrating!  Did you ask why they wouldn't just go ahead with your C-Section?  If you already have one scheduled and were planning on it anyway I can't see why they would let you keep going....must be the baby is ready to come with all of the contractions and with his head beign RIGHT THERE!

Well I had another trip to L&D yesterday where they continue to give me those stupid shots to stop contractions. I just don't understand why my doctor wont go ahead and do my c-section. It's like he doesn't care that I'm so uncomfortable and miserable. UGH!!! I don't want my little man to come too early but I'll be 38 weeks on Sunday, I think he'll be just fine. I'm back at work today trying to just stay busy and maybe walk around to get this little guy to come on. The nurse at the hospital said that he's really low, like she could feel his head when she checked my cervix so maybe soon ladies!!! I hope this baby doesn't come on Thanksgiving though, LOL.  I'm glad to hear that you ladies are still going strong. Keep me updated.

You're a trooper for going back to work!  LOL!  I would have stayed at home after that incident!  Glad it turned out well for you!  Only a couple of weeks to go!
