Dear Kaliane: Sometimes, when there is an abnormality that appears benign, there may be a recommendation for sooner follow-up to be certain that there are no changes. However, without examination, including review of the mammogram and clinical breast examination, we cannot speculate on whether this is the situation in your case. You may benefit from another discussion with your doctor. If you are not comfortable, you may benefit from a second opinion, preferably with a breast specialist.
The Radiologist who was present when your mammogram was done isn't necessarily the same Radiologist who does the final reading for the report. This would account for the difference of opinion. I would go with the return in 6 months since you have been called back several times in the past.
