As the host of this year’s World Cup, there’s no better place to source your party’s signature summery cocktail, the Caipirinha (pronounced “Kai-Pee-Reen-Ya”). The traditional drink is made with cachaça (a Brazilian take on white rum), lime wedges and granulated white sugar or simple syrup.
Lighten it up: swap the sugar for agave nectar. In a glass, muddle 2 teaspoons of agave nectar into 8 lime wedges. Fill the glass with ice cubes and add 2.5 ounces of cachaça. (Try Sagatiba Pura, Leblon, Cabana or Agua Luca.)
