20 mg a day low dose for me ??

hey i have  cystic acne i would say moderate acne  around the chin   , none on my cheeks or fore head ! my derm started me on 20 mg accutane , on the 5 day! i wanted to know is it low day dose or ok for me im 5'3 and weigh 50 kgs! i would want it to be low does since im very worried abt the side effects !

Hi. the usual starting dose for Accutane is 0.5mg x kg patients bodyweight/per day. So if you weigh 50kg your starting dose should be around 25mg. As your acne is not widespread or severe, and you are quite petite at 5'3, I think 20mg is good for you. Any lower would result in a longer therapy time and increased risk of relapse.

hey thanks for you reply ! im breaking out everywhere now on my face only how long does the initial break out takes to go away ??i dont even feel like looking at my face but the thought of clear skin makes me feel better !
