Toddler Facial rash

My Daughter, who is 30 months old has facial rashes from last few months. We took her to the General Physician couple of times for this. Everytime came out with a 1% steroid cream applied for 1 week. It is not responding to the steroid cream. Now the skin on cheeks has become darker, scalie  and pimply rash appear every now and then. I have added a photo. Please advice.

Hi there!

This should not be anything to worry about. Skin (especially facial skin) is very sensitive in children. The small white spots are also common and would disappear with time. The best remedy is to avoid things that your child appears to be allergic to like dust, chemicals, too much of sun etc. Use a mild cream based soap and baby oil/ lotion to keep the skin moist and supple, but not oily. In the event of the aggravation of the rash you may see a pediatrician.

Can you suggest a brand which might be suitable for her? Currently I am using "Aveeno Dermexa" for her. Most of the Johnson product dont suit her, which involves baby oil.
I am not using any soap, instead using oatmeal on her face.  The skin tone on the cheeks have become much darker compared to other parts of the face.

Can it be cause by any food allergy? she seems to be having some problems like heavy breathing/disturbed sleep with too much of dairy (yoghurt and cheese) some time.
