accutane and the liver

Hi,
I was just wondering - how bad is accutane for the liver?  Is it really necessary to stop drinking alcohol while on accutane?  I am going on a one week vacation at an all inclusive resort, and was wondering if I would be able to indulge in some drinks, and maybe if it was better to stop the accutane for the week while i was on vacation.

You should be having regular liver function tests whilst on Accutane and your doctor will advise you if any action is necessary due to the results.
I went to an all inclusive resort in Mexico whilst on Accutane. I did drink a small amount of alcohol (my liver function tests were normal preceeding this). Take care in the sun though, even though I stayed in the shade and wore sunblock I still got burned :(

It won't make any difference if you stop the Accutane for a week. Accutane has a long half life and stays in your body for up to 5 weeks after your last dose. Therefore associated risks will not lessen until this time has passed.
