Anxiety meds

Just a comment I've been reading alot of posts on here where people are dealing with anxiety while going thru detox or taking suboxone and just wanted to share my experience, 7 years ago after taking narcotics and getting addicted, I went to a doctor who introduced me to suboxone, but the one thing I had really bad was anxiety and the last thing I wanted was to get benzos and she gave me a medication called Vistaril, it's not a benzo, it's not addictive and it works great for
anxiety. My uncle is a doctor and he said that is a great med that has been around for a long time. So if anyone wants to try it, talk to your doctor and see if it helps. I know it helped me tremendously. Hope I can help someone with this info while you're on your journey! best of luck to
all!

Yes, they are not addictive, I started taking 2 a day of the 50 mgs and made me sleepy at first and then my system got use to them and I was fine, after a while I would just take them when I felt anxious or irritable and I wound up throwing the rest out when they expired. For anyone going thru detox they will probably help you sleep at first too. Hope this helps

A psychiatrist prsrcribed it and it worked extremely well and doesn't take forever to kick in like some meds. They have different strengths I believe they gave me the 50 mgs. Glad to help!

Good information Elmjack.  I've read that it is also an antihistamine, and since runny noses and sneezing are a very common withdrawal symptom, you can kill two birds with one stone....

Thanks for the post!
