Try a cool menthol rub for a change. Also, generic robaxin helps, but makes you sleepy.
I just recommended this to another member, but I think what really works best is Ibuprofen. 600 mg would be 3 tablets from the over the counter strength, and you must take it every 6 hours so you get the benefit of the anti-inflammatory properties and which are especially in your case, very much needed and desired. I have also spoken with many others , even who use heavy narcotics, and who say they are happiest with Advil, or Ibuprofen, and it works just as well.
Thank you all hopfully some of these things will help make it feel better
My friend uses a compounded pharmaceutical gel called KGCL that is non addictive. Its ketamine/gaba/clonidine/lidocaine, he has chronic pain in his knee and hip and swears that it works miracles for him. I was worried that he was lying to me about it being non addictive, but I actually went with him to the pharmacy and had a long disucussion with the pharmacist how something with ketamine in it cant be addictive, but according to them and some other sources we've talked to or read about it is exactly that. I not sure if this would be an option for you, but he had substantial addiction problems as myself to mainly oxycontin then methadone then suboxone. He completed his suboxone treatment almost 5 months ago now, and Im on my second month of SUB, so we both are very aware of not taking anything that we can become addicted to. Although I do know that this suboxone is working well for me, but that the sooner Im off the better. Anyways when you said leg pain, it just clicked for because my friend has very bad pain in his knee and other parts of his leg from surgery and avascular necrosis of the hip. Hopefully this will add another opition for you, if you have any other questions feel free to ask me, or my friend he has an account here aswell, he is the one who told me about it, I just joined today so Im trying to reach out and make some friends, or help out anyone who is struggling. Good luck with your leg.
i have it in both shoulders, have you considered a cortizone shot? it didnt work out too well for me, it crystalized or some odd thing and my arm was unusable for 5 weeks...but a lot of people swear by it and it last for quite a while...
and resting the area is ver important too, ALOT OF REST!!
I just happened to read something the other day where someone said they were using an Ibuprofen 'cream' topically. But they said it's only sold in Germany... but that it could be ordered online (it's non-prescription).
No idea how effective this really is - just passing it along.
