OMG has anyone read.. Beautiful Boy. a fathers journey though his sons addiction by David Sheff? I just started it and i can already tell it is gonna be a great book. I heard that it is great and very sad but strong all at the same time. let me know what i can expect.

It's a really good book... I just finished it... As an addict myself, it was interesting to see the addiction process from a dad or mom's perspective... It made me realize just how self-absorbed anyone is who has an addiction... but definitely read it... I want to get Tweak as well... :)

I saw this story on Oprah the son also wrote a book Tweak, I'm going to order them both from Amazon. So many things I can relate to having a son that doesn't always make the right choices and whom we have given everything in the world...

Wonderful.......congratulations to you. Wow 4 1/2 months clean. That is amazing. You must have worked so very hard and be proud of yourself. Did you c/t?  I am on Subs.

I agree with you 100%. I look at things in my life completely different these days. Everthing that i have done over the coarse of these last 4 months has made me look at everything with alot more appreciation. Including my addiction and quiting and staying clean! (4 months and 14 days!!) Staying in the NOW..i think that will be my new way of thinking!!
p.s.
i didn't do the whole online thing either..Medhelp is better for me right now!

No I did not get the opportunity to do that......I wanted to :>(. Do find that you look at things in your life differently? He touched on addictions as well.  What I got out of that was ...it is your ego and thought process that cause the addiction..staying in the NOW and not letting your thoughts possess you and what you think you need........did it help you at all in any way?

LOL!! That is were i got it!! Starbucks. All the girls there read it and said it was great!!

As far as "A New Earth" goes i also read that. It was a very good book. Did u do the whole online thing?

I saw that book when I was at Starbucks recently....i picked it up and read the flap....almost bought it but then didn't....if you recommend it, maybe i'll go back and get it!  it did sound like it would be very good....

No. Sounds good though.Should look in to. I have just finished a book that has changed my whole outlook on life. Oprah did a whole show on it.  It is called "A New Earth", Awakening to your life's purpose by Eckhart Tolle.  Focuses on separating your thoughts (which are what cloud up  your mind and reak havok on your life, and living in the NOW.)  Our ego is what screws up our lives. It has been an amazing eye opener for me and has changed the way I view life. Anyone read it? if so, your thoughts?
