Can Anyone answer this question?

Hello All,
I am new to this site.  I have been in and out of recovery for the last five years.  I had 5yrs clean time and then started opiods about three years ago.  My question is this-I was detoxed from Vicoden by using Suboxen.  The first three doses were done in a doctors office.  I believe I was given Subutex.  Subutex is a pure opiod and worked very well at stoping the wd's.  I was sent home with an assorted amount of 8 and 4 mg tablets.  Can I use the remander of my suboxen to get thru the w'd'?  And if so will they help?  I do not have the Subutex.  Will treatment work as well initially without the Subutex??
Thanks So Much njshar

I would not do this at home without the help of a doctor.  You must have been given 8mg and 2mg pills they do not come in 4mg pills. And you must have Suboxone if you don't have Subutex.  When did you do this intital treatment?? What drugs are you withdrawaling from now??  Was it 3 years ago that you did the Subutex detox? I would think the pills would be expired if so and lose potency.

Also neither Subutex or suboxone are pure opiods as you stated, they are both a partial agonist opiate from the drug buprenorphine. Subutex is only buprenorphine and Suboxone is both buprenophine and naloxone which is added to help deter addicts from crushing it and using it IV.

Welcome to the forum
Your doctor should have given you a plan for home.  You can take it for the withdrawals. take the smallest possible dose you can get by with to relieve your withdrawal symptoms.  Start with 2-4mg in the morning and then take more only if you need it.  I would contact the doctor who gave it to you to get a plan, but in the interim, this will work.  If you can, you should try to take it in the smallest effective dose for the shortest period of time.  The goal is to have no withdawals symptoms, no cravings.
Good luck
