Back To Update and Thank

I just wanted to come back and update you and say thanks again. As you may remember I had a problem addiction to pain medication like so may of us here. I did manage to get off the stuff with a relapse but am off again. My bigger worry however was my health. I have been struggling with lumps in my stomachm major health issues. This was back in August. I fianlly got the hospital tests I needed if you can believe it took this long. I meet with my specialist again in a week but I want you to know that after the scopes, he did come and tell me he did think I can be helped. He did also say that the damage caused was most likely due to the pills. I was lucky as I think I may have escaped this time with a chance to manage my health but it will not be easy.  I am sharing this to remind you that the addiction is more than emotionally damaging, it can kill you and please remember this. Your health is everytihing DO NOT TAKE IT FOR GRANTED. Thank all of you again for your support given back in the summer and I wish each of you newly on this site and previously on this site all the best and will pray for you. You helped me so much and I hope that I can help provide a reminder of why you need to stop without judging any of you of course. Thank you so much and God bless.

The medication causes the bowels to not function like they should. It binds you up so to speak and after a while this has a chain effect on the stomach and related organs. You don't really notice it until things get bad. Your muscles and needed organs stop functioning and suddenly you are in trouble. This causes things to back up and creates a problem in the stomach as gases and food do not process and the walls of the stomach get damaged.
No matter how you look at it the drugs hurt us more that they help us unless you can moderate and manage and most of us can't. I know I can't. Take care guys and thanks for the kind words.

Hey there you!   It is so great to hear from you.   Im glad you are finally getting the help/answers you need regarding you health issues.   Wow, so what exactly is it that the pills do to our stomachs?  Is it the tylenol in the pills that eats at our tummy?   You are so right about taking our health for granted.  It is precious and to think we ignore it and opt to do drugs just shows the power addiction has over us at times.

Thanks for posting the update and I wish you all the best!
