Just found this post. Ambien CR withdrawal is a massive pain in the butt along with depression, anxiety and no restful sleep. I went through major despair and health issues and a rather nasty divorce. I had to go to a psychiatrist to taper. It took 2 1/2 years. Doc in a box (health clinic) had no right to prescribe such a bad benzo. I was going out of my mind when the shakes started. No more addicting benzos or other drugs with such qualities!
I've never taken Ambien before, but there are people here who have, and have gotten off of it. You should scroll down the pages and look for heading with Ambien in it, and see what they've written about. Often times, people will post taper schedules ( for whatever drugs they are on) or offer advice that their docs gave them, and personal experience as well.
Sorry I can't be of much help, but wanted you to know that I'm here for ya! Let us know what you find out!!
I haven't been on the CR, but the regular Ambien. I was on it for years off and on. I had a really screwy schedule w/ my job, Anywhoo, I figured getting off all pills was the best route for me, so I went off the Ambien too. I did taper. Cut my doses in half, then every other day and then substituted w/ melatonin. It worked for me. I have run out and CT can cause nasty rebound insomnia. My sleeping issues are fairly in check now.
Good luck!
