I been thinkin.....about a new forum..what say you?

Well, I'm sorta kidding....and I'm sorta not.  I was thinking about a forum like "Living with a CoDependent"...you know...like "Living with an Addict" only for people in recovery that live with codependent people.

I think I'm probably EVERYTHING under the sun....a recovering addict, a recovering codependent, an adult child of an alcoholic, the daughter, sister, wife, ex-wife, step-mom, aunt,  niece, cousin, granddaughter, friend (whoa)...you name it...I have a relationship affected by this darn disease.  And SO MANY people PREFER to remain "comfortable" (and stay sick) by sticking their heads in the sand like an ostrich.  Like, " is something happening here?  really?  he wasn't intoxicated....you're just suspicious CIK....you're just cray cray"

Man o man....it's frustrating me...so is there a meeting you can go to where codependent people help people that are affected by codependent people?  lol  For real?
Denial ain't a river in Egypt and I see stars when it's as obvious as can be to me....yet others "pretend" there's simply nothing wrong.
So yes, I'm sorta just venting, I guess....but thought I'd throw this out there and get you all's feedback, too.

Hi.  I had to finally cut a codependent girlfriend from my life.
There is absolutely no possible way to teach this girl ( over 45 yr old girl)
what Alcoholism means.  Too many stupid story's later.
When her husband lost like his 5 th job & got arrested for driving the company truck ect, ect. You know the train wreck of a life. I let her be. I couldn't cope with her codependency. It was almost worse than his alcoholism, which he freely admitted to me.
So this is all a few yrs back. But it happened at the holidays. So he comes up to our lake house on a bender. My husband is in Africa at work. This guy drives plastered 90 minutes to get to our house. I don't even want to let him in. ( he was in our wedding & a pretty good friend. ) but he comes in. I tell him
Right off the bat, we have no beer. He's starting to get more agitated.
I have less than Zero tolerance. ( you may be able to see it in my posts)
Some people can play this game all the time. Once for me is enough.
So, he knows Don my husband has a wine cellar, but doesn't know where it is. I won't tell him, as I locate my pepper spray.
He sees a bottle of Dessert Wine in our coffee bar. Grabs it & heads out the door.
So, I say nothing to his stupid codependent wife, but she calls. Oh, my husband said he came up to see you. Hope you had a nice visit. (Is she crazy
She knows he lost his drivers license. His job. His truck.
She's says yeah he quit drinking, it's gonna be ok. I say great. She says yeah, now we share a bottle of wine at dinner ( before he never ever drank wine. She does, so she thinks it's ok). & then she says & he only drinks a
6~pack at night.
That was it for me. Can't be friends with her. My tolerance for her brand of codependency is as low as it is for alcoholics. Maybe lower.
      That's my story.     Pamela
