Just started on Subutex and have no one to talk to...

I am on my 3rd day of taking subutex - I am doing this for both pain management and to get off of opiates.
I am taking 8mg a day - 4mg in the morning and 4mg in the evening.
I don't get that high feeling - but i am calmer and tired still.
What concerns me is that my body hurts - my shoulders are sore, my breasts are sore, I have these awful headaches and I am shakey... and when will I be able to ride in a car without getting car sick? Has anyone else experienced this?
As far as the pain goes, it also hasn't done much for me yet. Does it take a while for this to work for pain management?

Thanks for listening, and I hope someone can give me some hope...

I've had chronic pain for a multitude of injuries caused at the same time (many broken bones and major back issues) for most of my adult life which I treated conservatively with opiate meds.  When I got hit with 5 years of constant migraines and my life became unbearable, confined to bed, I let the Pain Specialist give me as much medication as he wanted (always thought I wasn't taking enough anyway).  Well, I started taking it just to sleep through my days, and we all know the ending to that story.  My migranes finally started to go away but I was left with chronic pain and a huge abuse issue.  I've been on Subutex for over 7 months.  It helps my pain, but took a good month or so to really kick in.  I was also on 32mg. day.  It takes a while for your body to adjust, it is also hit or miss whether it will help you with pain.  Some people get help, others don't.  The best thing I can tell you to do is stick with it, and "dose" for pain.  Taking a small amount every 4 to 6 hours-pain relief of Sub only last as long as any other pain reliever even though the half-life is exremely long.  I'd try getting stablized, (I didn't feel great until about 10 days into it) and then another month before I really was able to split up my doses and get adequate pain relief.  Hang in there, let your body get used to the med and then see if you need to take more.  Maybe 2-4mg. every 4 to 6 hours. You should have a fairly good idea if it will help after the first 10 days or so.  If you feel relief for any length of time after you take it, then there is a good chance it might help.

Good luck, patsgeadogs

I have abdominable pain - endometriosis - feels like a knife is stabbing into by ovaries - and no, if this doesn't work I don't know what to do about the pain....all I know is that I do not want to go back on the pills. When I get these effects of the Sub down to manageable, I was going to start running again and start doing my regular routines of hot yoga and such...you know, healthy body healthy mind?

What do you do to help our pain?

and thanks.

hey there. I used Sub to get off pills almost 5 months ago I took it for 10 days. And yes it did make me very nauseous. My doc gave me phenergan to help with the sick feeling it gave me. It also gave me headaches but that got better after i reduced my dose down to 4mgs a day. It also made me shakey like I drank a bunch of coffee or took too much cold medicine like a speedy shakey. This also got better when I tapered down to 4mgs and lower.
As far as the pain goes. It did nothing for my pain. ZERO It seems that it doesn't help every kind of pain. I have Fibromyalgia, Myofacsial Pain and OA in my neck. The people I see taking it for pain management seem to be on really really high doses and I couldn't tolerate any more of it than the 6mgs I started with.
What kind of pain do you have??  Have you started to think about what actions you will take for pain when you are off the pain pills??
