I was the same way, if i didn't have them i would/could not talk to anyone, didn't want to be around anyone or nothing....I loved my pills, i was taking percocets or vicodin, which ever i could get. I was taking for 4 years and 10 or more a day, nonstop. I even cancelled our family vacation this year cause i didn't have enough to take with me. I would get up in the mornings and count them, just to see if i had enough to get through the day. I know you know what i am talking about. We all do that! Anyway, on June 3rd this year i had NO choice i had to quit, cause i ran out and had no way of getting anymore. I went through all the w/d symptoms and have been struggling ever since then. When i first quit i made it 14 days. Then i caved in and found some and started using again. Up until 2 weeks ago, i got very sick cause i was taking the vicodin which have alot of tylenol in it, and i ended up being rushed to the hospital, and was there for a week. My liver was failing. I still might have to have a liver transplant, but hopefully not, we are hoping it will heal on its own. Anyway, long story short i know what you are going through and i just want you to know what to expect and give you a few tips on some things that helped me get through it...
First of all, i know for me the hardest part was getting absolutely NO sleep for 14 nights, and i mean NO sleep. I was so tired but my body could not lay still. I hated that part of it all the worst.
You will have the flu like symptoms that usually last 5 days...
Here are a few things that you can get that will help you,
- Imodium, for the tummy and the runs.
- Melatonin, over the counter sleeping pill, (works very well)
- Bananas , has potasium will help with the restless legs.
- Long hot baths (i was taking 2 sometimes 3 a day)
- Vitamin B Complex, helps with the NO energy
- Heating pad, behind the neck at night and on the legs
Also, you will feel like you can't even walk, You have NO energy, but like on day 3 or so, you need to force yourself, even if you don't want to, make yourself go for a walk, it really does help, even though you don't think it will, it really does!
I was also taking "Womans One A Day Energy Pills" helps a little with the low energy.
One other thing, is this forum....It has been so amazing! You come here and post anytime, day or night...Just knowing that you are not alone helps in so many ways. Plus, by coming here and reading, it'll let you know what you can expect next and so on...So stay here, and cry if you need to, or whatever you want to talk about.
If you need anything at all, please just ask. NO one here judges you, so just be yourself, and be completely honest, and i know you can get through this. It is tough, but like i said the hardest part is the first 5 days or so. Get through them and you will be well on your way.
Good luck to you,
Hope
