OMG this is soooo strange

As most of you know, I am having my gallbladder removed Tuesday.  Well here is the strange part.  My 16 year old came home from her boyfriend's parents house last night complaining of severe nausea and feeling hungry but said if she ate she would throw up.  Also, her back was hurting like all get out.  Woke up this morning and took her to the doctor.  She was thoroughly examined and they want an ultrasound of her gallbladder in the morning.  We didn't say anything about me having my gallbladder out or anything.  I also let her explain all her symptoms to the doctor herself.  So my question is this, has anyone else had something like this happen.  2 family members having the same problem at the same time?  I mean something that isn't contagious.

I just got off the phone from a long conversation with my daughter's doctor (who happens to be my best friend).  She said that she really thinks my daughter has an ulcer, but since she is going out of town Wednesday she just wanted to make sure there wasn't an emergency with her gallbladder.  We both think it is stress related because my daughter has had so many things happen to her this summer.   She is beginning her senior year, she just started a job, she was in the state America's Junior Miss program, she was chosen as an outstanding honor student (she has a cumulative GPA of 4.4 since elementary school), and her boyfriend of 3 years has been gone for 13 weeks for Marine Basic Training.  I think she is just overloaded and stressed to the max.  Anyway she is leaving with her b/f's family on Wednesday to go to South Carolina to pick him up and bring him home.  I think she will be better once he gets back.

This is a child who has been to the doctor maybe 5 times in her 16 years of life so it is freaking her out.  We are going to follow up with all the ulcer meds and have the ultrasound in the morning and maybe we will be able to set our minds at ease.

Unless it is diet or area related? Just seems strange for both families

Both of my parents and myself have all had our gallbladders removed.  It didn't happen right on top of each other like yours did with your daughter, but they were cosistant one right after the next. My father, couple months later mom, then just back in Feb. me! Heres the kicker though, they are not my REAL parents, its my aunt and uncle (they raised me since I was a baby!) Even though I consider my "uncle" my father, he isn't even related to me by blood so it couldn't be a hereditary thing...possibly contagious...couldn't be...right? haha

I havent heard of this before.  I am posting cuz i have mine out so i feel safe!!!!!!  LOL

My youngest daughter had hers out when she was 14.  Hers was nonfunctioning.  They did the nuclear testing type thing.  Injected dye into her and she cramped up right away.

Good luck tomorrow.  You will feel better when it is gone!!!!  Keep us posted when you can.  Stay strong my friend.                    sara
