Oxy & hair loss

Hey everyone...i need to get some opinions on the oxycontin!! Has anyone noticed hair loss?? I am shedding like a cat!! Also i think i may be totally ADDICTED to this ****! I take 20mg 3xday. I also take neurontin for the pain as well. I also suffer from severe depression & anxiety. I take meds for that and I cant sleep without Ambien. So I feel like I am doomed in the worst way! Can anyone give me a shout with some advice???

Omg!!  you know what?....I have noticed hair loss, and i take Neurontin too.  I started noticing that I didn't want to put my hair in a pony cause I was getting a forehead like Tyra Banks !!....no offense tyra, but I wasn't born with a monster forehead.  I was thinking it could be that or the fact i hadn't cut my hair in 4 years....hmm?  Now I did read that it is a side effect of Neurontin, but if you are shedding like a cat, that's not good, and i would talk to your doctor.  I didn't put 2 & 2 together till now.....seriously now......

I think it's the Neurontin.  How many mgs do you take per day???? if I may ask?

I take 1200mg per day of the neurontin! I am so glad that I am not the only one! My hair has gotten so thin...i think i will talk to my DR. Thanks girl!!!

Hey Jenna,

I was taking 1800 mgs. of Neurontin and I backed myself down to the same dose as you.  I did do a little more research and it is a side effect.  Many people complaining of this.  I do see and feel nubbies where the hair is gone.  I think it makes the hair possibly very dry and its breaking?....do you see a lot of  fly-aways on your head?  I've never seen that with my hair before, or as bad as it is now.  

Let me know what your doctor says.  I am afraid to tell my doctor the side effects I am having because I am afraid they will lower or take me off it.  I would rather die than go off the neurontin !!  it has saved me from a horrible life of addiction.  It works, no tolerance, and I would go bald before I go back to opiates.......hmmm?  okay, well that's kinda pushing it, but you get my drift.......:-))
