PLEASE HELP!

I  am  having severe  back pain and sternum bone pain tonight and i have been taking 1 naprosyn , 2  es tylenol, 2 tramadols, every 6 hours , (except for the naprosyn) and nothing is helping i have been laid up on  the couch for 2 days now. if you all can remember i have posted on here a few times  and  told all that i have had an addiction to vicodin in the past and i have been off of them for over 2 months now. and don't even crave them .THE PROBLEM IS  now i really feel like i should go to hospital and get something  for pain.(most likely they would give a narcotic and i would accept it too!) i know that sounds bad, but i haven't been in this much pain for a long time , the tramadol does nothing for this kinda pain.. what do you do when the pain gets this bad?? just suffer cause your afraid you will become addicted again to a narcotic , or do you take some and just hope your strong enuf to just take that 1 or 2.and stop taking them then???? i am very affraid cuz i know its like the alcohol with me, one is all it takes and im ready for more and more. please help me  with this , i have no one else who understands. thank in advance, michele

I agree with FL if you go to the ER tell them no narcotics , I know its rough but staying clean takes a huge commitment .... I like FL live with daily cronic pain ...I have headaches so bad some days i feel like i am going to pass out .... However narcotics are no longer an option....
Plz let us know how you are ....

If you have to go to the ER tell them you can't take narcotics and ask them for a shot of Toradol. They should have no problem doing that for you. Just make yourself clear that you DO NOT want narcotics. Another thing is Lidoderm patches. I dont' know if you have ever tried them but they work good.

hi, im sorry , i didn't make my self clear,: ) (i do that all the time) my back, like in the  upper spine, is where it hurts the most, but also it is the sternum bone which is right in the middle of my chest/ and the clavical . i am hurting so bad. i have had shots of toradol and it is a great help and non addictive ! i wonder if i went to the hospital and ask for that , they would give me a shot.? i need some kind of relief. and i def. do not wanna start using again so i am gonna stay away from tha narcs, but if i feel like its really bad , and the hospital gives it i prob will take it . i  just hope the pain eases up so i DON'T have to go to the hosp.  thanks for  talking with me.  im gonna try to go to bed now..good night & Take care, michele

I know for me.. I have chronic pain from Fibromyalgia and when I hurt really really bad.. I just have to tough it out. I take the time to rest and use lots of alternating heat and ice. I take NSAID"s and flexiril or zanaflex. I have my hubby draw me a hot bath and put me in it. My days of being able to take something narcotic for pain are over.. I abused that right now its no longer a choice i just have to make due with what i can do.

where is your back pain hun, your sternum bone is in your chest.......
You have to decided whether the pain is worth starting all over with the pills (if they give you any ,the ER here where I am would give you something like toroidal instead of a narcotic)...
The chances they you wont abuse them is slim to none...
I really hope you start to feel better , i know this is a choice I am sure you dont want to have to make .....
I would think long and hard about what you want to do .....
Let us know how you are .
