Rivers of blood must flow......

This is concerning another fight - - but I could not help but notice the parrallels to our battles with addiction....... The quote is contained in a letter from Thomas Jefferson to John Adams at a point when the Continental Congress was debating Freedom and fighting the British for independence ..............

"Rivers of blood must yet flow, and years of desolation pass over; yet the object is worth rivers of blood, and years of desolation."  

It appeals to the Veteran in me - -  and it reminds me of a feeling that I had when I contemplated cleandom......

That quote also reminds me of the friends, family, and loved ones that we've lost to this terrible disease. It reminds me daily that this disease is terminal if not treated.

There is a song by the Alarm that I love and the name of it, If I remember it right is Rivers to cross and it is on the "change" CD Not really sure if that is the name. You would love it
