Hey Matt!
I agree, it probably is the hardest thing you've ever done...was the hardest for me, too. But one day soon, you'll wake up and realize it's the best thing you've ever done. I am so happy to hear that you are on day 5!!! Often times, the worst of w/d peaks between 48 to 72 hours, and slowly gets better. BUT...I know many people who felt like the worst part of w/d lasted from about day 3 to day 7. I don't say that to discourage you, but rather to let you know so you don't panic. You WILL start noticing, slowly, and very soon ( quite possibly by the end of the day) that you are feeling better and better each day.
As for signs of liver damage, I'm not sure of that, but I've found WebMD to be very helpful! Check it out. Again, congrats on day 5!!! I know you aren't feeling well, hun, but you will.

Last night was the toughest I have had. The sweats and chills are awful and you are having the same. We should start to feel better as the day goes on. Congrats on Day 5!!!!! It is uphill from here. If you get a chance read Mangees post to me. He overcame an addiction too and is a very smart man. We have to take it a step at a time and we will get to our destination. I know how you feel right now and you are not alone. Keep posting for support.

God Bless,
Tim

Sorry, I didn't answer your question. If you had liver damage you would have open sores all over your body. Your eyes and skin would be yellow and your stomach distended. I had my liver enzymes checked a few months ago and I am fine. The physical symptoms you are having is withdrawal.
Good luck my friend.

Hi matt,

Well Tim answered your question but I just wanted to say I am thinking of you.  And, unfortunately we have all been where you are and it is perfectly normal.  You are doing so good though!  Keep fighting!!

luv,

hang with it..I am detoxing from 250 mg/day oxycodone using suboxone which helps but it is not perfect by any means...had to let my doctor go (who I really really liked) she is just too caring and I had too much access to meds (though I qualify for the meds I just can't stand them anymore). I am in day 4 and as bad as I feel ...mentally I feel good! a sense of freedom...pray for me brother and I will pray for you.

I can't really add much more than what has already been said. But a HUGE congrats to you on day 5!!!! You have made it a long way. Same to you Tim.

I also agree with emilyanne....some people start to feel better within 3 days sometimes a few more. All depends on the person. But know this:
You have made it VERY FAR right now, and that you should be proud of! Will not be much longer now and you will feel some of those bad symptoms start to lift. If This probably does not make you feel any better at this moment but know that you are over the worst of it..can only get better from here. Try and keep that in your mind if nothing else. Post as much as you can, that helps as well.
Hang tight, and keep plugging!
Thoughts and prayers your way!
Tracy

The first signs of liver damage is very dark urine, of course a yellow tinge to your skin and/or eyes. No appetitie, and possible stomach pains. I just read about this recently. Although these symptoms are vague and can be contributed to other minor health problems, but if you have a real concern, I would go to the dr. and request a liver function test and whatever other tests he/she recommends.
