"chantix"

i started taking chantix about 3 days ago..Let me back up, some of you may have read this already..Okay sorry if my spelling or typing gets bad..Okay i live in a small town and we have one little pharmacy. That has been owned by the same lil family, of course they know everyones business..Well just so happend that i was in the store next door and buying some cigerettes..When the lady (pharmacist) was behind me..She asked me how i was doing?  i said good, then she proceeds to say i heard about your surgery and your heart attack, are you feeling any better..i said yes it is getting better..So she looks at my cigerettes and i said i know, after what happened i should not have picked up another one..now i have been knowing this lady all my life, and i have filled alot of persriptions there so we all know she knows my  problem..So she says have you ever heard of chantix and i said yes i have a persription for it i just didn't fill it yet..Then she proceeds to tell me that it not only works on nicotine addiction but other addictions as well..OKAY you think she was trying to tell me something...i just went to the website and it works on receptors in the brain that nicotine binds too..So here i am my first day , and i swear the last time i felt so much worst then this....Could she be right?  i will see as time goes by, but i just know i don't feel good, but not as bad as the last time.not sure who smokes here????  i smoke so much more when i take pills..just like when i use to drink, it just goes together..When i was sober for about 4 months before i ever got addicted to lortabs, i did not even want a cigerette..So i am hoping to quit that nasty habit too...

Man you are right....I smoke but I didn't smoke that much....but when I started taking the Vics, forget it...I smoke like a chimney while on them....and this new job I have is so fast paced that basically you eat and work, but I want to take a smoke break.....but I can't....I think I am the only smoker there, but let me tell you, when I get off of work I smoke it up.....I have never heard of the chantix they are talking about...is that prescribed by a Dr....?.....I also likr to unwind with a glass of wine when I get off, and I love to smoke then...it seems for me to go hand in hand....I guess addiction is all the way around for me.....Thanks Bug

I have heard it works on other addiction as well as smoking.  I even heard on tv that it could help with gambling and drug addiction.   I am an occasional smoker.   I havent had one in about a week cuz I smoked after my surgery and then got scared it would slow my recovery and make me be in pain longer (which of course means being on pills longer).

I know what you mean about the ciggys and opiates.   They are like chips and soda, they just go together.

What ever the doctor recomends, maybe a couple months.I'm telling you the suboxone is good medicine. You would be surprised how much better you feel and  will notice a change right away.
The pain pills and that feeling doesn't even appeal to me anymore.

Hi.....I just started smoking again yesterday until i get thru this withdrawl from hydros but i tell you what works for me and that is laser treatment.  It costs $200.00 where i live (Indianapolis), but that's cheaper than smoking.  That's why i wasn't worried to start again until getting over this addiction cuz i know i can go get another laser treatment and be just fine again.  I have known many folks that have used this method and none of them have started smoking again.  Just thought i would give you another option besides DRUGS.

Also....there are zero withdrawl symptoms from stopping....absolutely none.  You walk in a smoker and walk out a non smoker.  Honest.

Take care.......Hope you'll consider this option.
