I have been off of it for 2 months. I was also on Soma. Getting off cold turkey was the hardest thing i have ever done in my life. i still think about vic almost every day.I am on other medications for my arthritis and so i do not have daily pain or anything.I wound up using vic as a crutch for all that i had to endure every day from my son.it made everything easier for me. Dealing with the daily grind of taking care of kids is really tough (as you know). I was not happy unless i had my pills. I was taking about 4 a day in the afternoons plus a soma or two. I never got up to 15 or 20 like many people. Although if i had acess to more i probably would have taken more.
Welcome! I don't know of any specific group like that you can attend but many of us here on this forum are moms and are in various stages of recovering from narcotic addiction. There are lots of challenges that come up that are sort of mom-specific and you'll find that when you post a question you'll have other moms who will be able to relate and direct you or at least can sympathize! My kids are 13, 9 and 7 and my oldest has ADHD, too! I had been taking Norco (very similar to Vicoden) for the past year for a spinal fracture. I really wanted to stop completely but am still faced with constant pain so I am trying other pain control methods right now. Congratulations on stopping the vicoden! How long have you been off of it now?
I don't think there are ones for moms specifically unless someone in your area happened to start their own. You should check out Pills Annonymous and see if there are meeting in your area. like i said they won't be for moms specifically but it would help.
