taking percocet 26 wks pregnant

Hi I was just wondering if someone could maybe help me out. I am 26 wks pregnant and my boyfriend and I couldn't be more excited! The only problem is, my boyfriend is addicted to pain pills, mainly percocet 30's. I have taken them with him plenty of times but I don't know if I would say I'm addicted.  He does them around me all the time and sometimes I take half of one because they make me feel good especially when my back is bothering me.  Like I say, I don't do them that often but I am scared the times I do them is affecting my baby and I was wondering if anyone could tell me some affects of mild use??

You can do some searches you should talk to your dr. about it. When I was pregnant I had kidney stones and was on iv dialaudid for about 4 days and the dr.'s said that opiates were metabolised very quickly and did not affect the baby a lot. I actually needed a lot of pain killers for various things during my pregnancy (i had triplets:) and they are perfect and beautiful. I'm sure it's not the best thing but my ob rx them so it must be accepted. Good luck and enjoy being pregnant!

I believe there were some recent news items discussing this very thing.  You may do a google search and see what you can find..I can't recall if percocet was mentioned. I'm not a doctor but I would suggest you stop taking them.  There were mentions of potential birth defects.
