Sugary Foods cause me not to be able to take a deep breath

When I eat Sugary Foods or drink Soda Pop my breathing becomes more shallow and I have trouble getting deep breaths.....I have told my dr about it.......any suggestions??  It has been like this since i was 16. I am now 26. I smoked from 16 to 20.
She says it is asthma

Sounds like an allergy to me. I would ask for a food allergy test to see if it is the sugar or any hidden additives.

Hey Im from Arkansas too!  It could be asthma, but it could be an allergy as well.  Have you been tested for diabetes or hypoglycemia?  You might want to consult another physician if you are not getting anywhere with the one you are seeing now.
