Thank you for your prompt response. I will be careful with what medications I take. Besides the groups you mentioned, any other medications that I should be monitoring? (e.g. Astepro, Nosenex, Symbicort, Singulair) Are there any food, additives, or environmental things connected with the ibuprofen allergy? Any additional test besides the obvious ones I should have? Thanks, Cecitu
The same thing happened to me, Also have an allergy to Ibuprofen All of the Coxibs like celecoxib and even to ketarolac - as Dr_Veena said they do belong to NSAID group, however currently I'm very cautious in taking any drugs for headaches, different antipyretics like acetominophen and salicylates like aspirin.
Take care and do not joke with it as I'm currently in a condition that when I accidentally use the drug (and this had happened once) had a huge swelling of the face and thank god the doctors helped me in time.
Please be careful) Best wishes.
Hi,
Yes, some people might develop allergic reactions in the form of facial swelling, hives, asthma, breathing difficulty, shock etc with use of ibuprofen. Most commonly there is aspirin allergy noticed in coincidence with allergy to ibuprofen. Asprin belongs to salicylate group while ibuprofen belongs to NSAID’s group. It does not mean that allergy will occur to every compound of that group. It is individual to every person and caution should be maintained before taking any medications of that group. Best.
