Hello,
It seems that you are having hay fever or allergic rhinitis.
Allergic rhinitis is a collection of symptoms, predominantly in the nose and eyes, caused by airborne particles of dust, dander, or plant pollens in people who are allergic to these substances.
You can take OTC antihistaminics like benadryl or Claritin. You can also use nasal corticosteroid sprays like nasocort or flonase. Decongestants may also be helpful in reducing symptoms such as nasal congestion, but they should not be used for long periods.Steam inhalation can be used instead of nasal holding. Cromolyn sodium is a nasal spray (Nasalcrom) for treating hay fever. Eye drop versions of cromolyn sodium and antihistamines are available for itchy, bloodshot eyes.
If the symptoms are intense then you can go in for immunotherapy. Also try avoding exposure to pollen.
Hope it helps.Take care and pls do keep me posted on how you are doing or if you have any additional queries.Warm regards.
Thanks for the response.
I read somewhere that if the nasal discharge is yellow, it is a cold. But if it is clear, it is allergies. To be honest it has been both.
If it is a cold, that might be better, because it is bound to end in a few days. Any thoughts?
I really appreciate your insight on this, it is very kind and generous of you to answer my questions in such a prompt manner,
James
