suffering

i am 20 years old and every morning i wake up, regardless of how much sleep i have had, i feel like a zombie. i can barely open my eyes, and i stumble around like im drunk or something. this is a very recent occurance, before i was always able to just hop out of bed. i have also had severe sneezing and itchy nose almost every day, and i have been extremly nausiated in the sun and in the car recently. i have had brief episodes of light headedness as well. is this allergies??

I don't believe what you are experiencing has anything to do with allergies. Allergy medications can sometimes make you feel groggy. It just depends on the type of medication you are taking...if any.

My suspicison after reading your post is that you might be pregnant...that is, if you're sexually active. If that is the case, you should probably take a pregnancy test to make sure.

Hi, welcome to the forum, it typically suggests allergic rhinitis which is exaggerated or precipitated during cold season or timing. This condition is sometimes associated with asthma.

The triggering factors like dust, fog, pollens etc. can cause the precipitation of these symptoms.

A careful nasal examination, Allergen-specific testing includes Skin testing, Serum tests for allergy, Allergen challenge and as well as Evaluation for concurrent conditions like Sinusitis and Asthma is necessary and it directs further steps for management.

You need to take measures to avoid exposure to such allergens. You can try sleeping with windows closed, which will avoid exposure to aero-allergen in the morning.

It should be differentiated from vasomotor rhinitis and Atrophic rhinitis for which consult ENT specialist. Take care and regards.
