Is he allergic to soap?

It has been one week since I changed my toddler's baby soap to a different brand but still hypoallergenic. I noticed that when he rubbed his face with his knuckles, I saw reddish patches of skin. When I wiped his neck with a wet towel, I saw bumps on his skin. I returned to using his old brand of soap but he still gets irritated easily. What should I do?

The Lysol product I'm talking about is being used to sanitize hospital linens. I was advised to mix half a cap-full in 5 liters of water and rinse my son's clothes in the solution instead of using fabric softener. My son's pedia specializes on infectious diseases. She also informed me that she can refer me to a good dermatologist in case my son's condition persists. Will accept her offer if needed in the future. Thanks for the advice.

Hello freehero,

You're welcome. I have never heard of the term " skin asthma".
You said your pediatrician has advised you to rinse your toddler's
clothes in Lysol.  Does Lysol make a product for children suitable
or safe enough to rinse your child's clothes in ? Just out of curiosity
what is the name of this product ?  As this is a skin issue, perhaps
it might be an idea for you to ask the pediatrician for a referral to
a dermatologist. Where I live, you need a referral from your family
doctor, for example, to a dermatologist for a second opinion.
I wish you and your son well.   Eve

Thanks for the advice Eve! I have recently took him to his pediatrician and he advised that my child's skin is very sensitive. He also said that he may have inherited my skin asthma. He prescribed anti-histamine for the moment. If my child's rashes worsens, he will prescribe ointments to treat them. He also advised me to change my child's baby soap from Johnson & Johnson to Oilatum and rinse his clothes in Lysol. I followed the pediatrician's advice, so far, I saw no alarming rashes. Just the reddish marks left by his knuckles on his skin.

Hello freehero,

Just finished reading your comments. May I suggest that you make an
appointment with your child's pediatrician and have your child's doctor
examine him to determine whether you're dealing with a skin allergy.
What brand of soap are you using?  Also what brand of detergent are
you using ?  It sounds like your child's skin is very sensitive.
What baby soap did you use originally?  What brand did you change it
too?  Answering these questions may allow me to offer you more suggestions.  Good luck to you.  Eve
