I like curries and spicy foods, however for the last year or so I cannot anything like that, I have to eat bland food because my mouth, I guess my tongue, becomes so painfull. I have pain cleaning my teeth because toothpastes iritate my mouth, and I take about three times longer than anybody else eating my food as my mouth is always sore these days, even with bland food. I am 60 years and I take medication for arthritis, could this be the cause, the only thing that I have started taking in the last 12 months is Brufen, could this be the cause. Please help me, I am desperate.
reading through your post, i think what you describe is actually the geographic tongue itself. However, there is no specific cure for geographic tongue yet. There may be some options available.
Do you have allergies of any kind?
You may read more about this at:http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Geographic_tongue
hope this was useful. Please let us know if you need more information.
there may be many causes for soreness on the mouth. this may be due to the medication, vitamin deficiency, stress, ulcers and many other reasons. Perhaps you should start taking some multivitamins and ensure that you take all nutrients in your diet.
You may want to consult your doctor and get this sorted out completely.

you definitley should be checked for vitamin deficiencies. Both Vit B and Vit C deficiencies could cause the symptoms you are describing.
