I am glad the site had added the "Call 9-1-1 in an emergency" as I  have seen some rather disturbing and frantic posts in here in the past!! thanks MedHelp!!

Ok guys I think you need to be a little more careful to read the fine prints. Every page on this forum has the following statement, which I think says it all. So we're using this forum at our own risk to share positive experiences and get support from others. We can't expect anything from doctors on this forum. Thanks guys.

This is CLEARLY a patient-to-patient forum - other forums have the choice of both, this one does not.

That tag-line seems to be a part of their logo - and to be honest, I've never seen it before... I've been on this site in the past quite a bit, and seen DR answers - but they're still just ONLINE advice and almost every single one of them tells the individual to visit a DR at the end of the message, how much can you actually garner about an individual from a few lines of type....

I think people need to be aware that they're asking random strangers questions about their health - if they're serious, they should really visit a dr in person - Obviously.

You're offering up plenty of advice to others - so i'm not really understanding your issue --- if you don't like it - leave & find another site.

When you READ these posts - I want you to scroll up to the top of the post...and read the tagline "where there's a doctor on the web" that should NOT be there.  I have read post after post on this forum in which people have some pretty severe problems and are looking for some sound advice.  I inquired about Blood Pressure Meds Allergy and was given a post stating that I need to learn how to BREATHE better (((yeah - right!)))  Maybe I am a little cantakerous right now but, like I've said - I think is need to be MORE CLEARLY marked on the forum that this is NOT monitored nor answered by doctors!  I'm not debating the issue. It's just a fact.

Not at all.  There are a multitude of Doctors who answer questions in various forums on this website, but not in any of the "unmoderated patient-to-patient" forums.  These forums are fairly clearly marked, so there's really no false advertising going on at all.

HMMM.... Maybe that's somewhat 'false' advertising that the web site's main LOGO tagline is "Where there's a Doctor on the web".... I know that it's mostly people helping people but, maybe they should rethink their 'tagline'

There is an Asthma and Allergy forum that has questions answered by National Jewish. Perhaps you should try there.

Thanks!!  I hadn't noticed that there was a doctor mediated forum before.  I guess I should check more closely before I reply to a post!!

Have a good one!

This is a patient to patient forum, there are no doctors on this particular one.  It is basically used for "patients" to give advise and support to one another.  I don't think there is a doctor mediated allergy forum.
