is this allergies or something worse?

Hi I'm new. I have always had terrible allergies. I was under my parents insurance and was taking medicine for my asthma and allergies but that ended like 6 years ago. I now take the otc Zyrtec off brand.
I've had terrible post nasal drip (more like post nasal blob) since I moved to Florida 2 years ago.
About a month ago my throat started feeling like there was a lump in it and the pain kept getting worse. Now even burping (sorry for being so gross) hurts really bad. My one tonsil is swollen way more than the other. I'm not sick at all except for my throat killing  me. Is it just allergy related or am I sick? Thanks for your help

Hi there,

I just finished reading your comments. I see that you recently joined Med help. Welcome to the allergy forum. Have you been to see your family doctor?  If you haven't been to see your doctor, I would suggest making an appointment so your doctor can look at your throat, tonsils, ears etc and give you some suggestions and possible next steps.  If your tonsil is swollen it's swollen for a reason and you need to see a doctor if you haven't already.
I wish you well.  Eve
