Hello,
Routinely vibramycin(tetracycline) is not prescribed for sinus infections as the antibiotics of choice for sinusitis are usually penicillins, macrolides, fluorquinolones or cepahalosporins. However if you want to take tetracycline antibiotics, then pls inform your PCP about it before taking it.
I hope that helps.Take care and pls do keep me posted on how you are doing or if you have any additional queries.Kind regards.
i also have an antibiotic called vibromycin and was wondering if that will help any?
Hello,
The most common way to get rid of a stuffy nose is to use an over-the-counter (OTC) decongestant combined with an anti-inflammatory analgesic (pain reliever) like Ibuprofen. However, you should not use decongestants for more than 5-7 days at a time. Avoid indigestible, spicy, foods and meats and eat simple wholesome food. Obtain needed out-of-door exercise, sunbaths, and swimming. It can also be treated using an antihistamine nasal spray. Antihistamine works by blocking your immune system's response to the allergen.
Symptoms can also be relieved by using a nasal spray that contains corticosteroids. Corticosteroids work by helping to reduce inflammation and congestion.
However the golden rule for chronic stuffy nose is steam inhalation. Inhaling steam from a bowl of hot (but not boiling water) may help to soften, and loosen, the build up of mucus in your nose. You may also find that adding some menthol crystals, or eucalyptus oil, to the water, helps to ease your symptoms of catarrh.
These remedies should work for you. If the symptoms still persist then pls consult an ENT specialist.
Hope it helps.Take care and pls do keep me posted on how you are doing or if you have any additional queries.
I RECENTLY HAD SINUS X-RAYS AND THEY DID NOT SHOW ANY DEVIATED SEPTUM OR ANYTHING THEY JUST DIAGNOSED IT AS A SINUS INFECTION AND GAVE ME BACTRUM. THE ANTIBIOTIC CLEARED IT UP FOR ABOUT A WEEK THEN IT CAME BACK EVEN WORSE.
Hello,
This bad smell and drainage can be due to mucuc produced in sinusitis. It can be due to allergic nasal polyps or tumors, allergic reactions, deviated nasal septum, trauma to the face, respiratory tract infections, allergies such as hay fever, immune system cells or cystic fibrosis.
It is important to find out the cause of chronic sinusitis as then specific treatment can be started. For that the diagnosis of sinusitis or sinus infection has to be confirmed. This can be done through transillumination (passing light through the sinuses) or Sinus X-rays or CAT scan of sinuses.Pls consult an ENT specialist and get these tests done.
Hope it helps.Take care and pls do keep me posted on how you are doing or if you have any additional queries.
