TBI related muscle twitch

My 20 y.o. daughter is 18 mos. post TBI.  About a year ago she developed a muscle twitch (looks like pulsing) in her throat; over time the twitch has involved her chin, lips, and now, occasionally, the left or right side of nose.  The twitch is less noticable when she's sleeping or very mellow. Neurologist states it's from her brain stem injury - many med changes were made, none worked.  There is no seizure activity in her EEG.  Any thoughts?  Thank you.

EEG doesn't always show a seizure where she most likely is having Absence seizure. Which is like a seizure in some ways but may not show up on an EEG but the visual recognition is enough to confirm absence seizure. Find out if she notices it very often or less so. Absence seizure are commonly unnoticed because they are short and not very violent. You say that the twitching/ pulsing started in the throat and moved up to her chin and lips, was there any trauma to her head before anything started. A lot can count as brain trauma so any falls or crashes before the twitching.
