lack of interest

Hi Dear Doctor,

I've had lack of interest in eating since I was even 4 years old. I'm 26 now. I've been most of the time slim or underweight so that everyone has always mentioned it to me. Now it's 2 months that I have a normal BMI. (I'm 154 cm, 44.5 Kg). So, I thought maybe i can find some help here.
I can find lack of interest in life in my past. I'm much better now. And I guess it is perhaps related to not showing interest in eating, or even following my goals with energy.
How can I keep my interest in eating beneficial foods (or if it can be considered same, following my goals).
I need to gain more weight and keep it.
Is this related here?
Plz advise.

Dear meltingchocolatebox,

Some of your symptoms suggest you may have depression.  Depression often is associated with eating disorders.  However, depression can stand on its own.  Symptoms of depression can include some of the following: depressed mood, decrease interest in previously enjoyed activities, decrease or increase in appetite, sleep disturbances, poor concentration, difficulty making decisions, tearfulness, low self-esteem, suicidal  ideations, homicidal ideations, and hearing voices or seeing things.

To determine if you have an associated eating disorder, take our survey on the bella vita website.

Best,
