This will be my final try at posting . Haven"t had much luck today. I guess I'm a bit ovewhelmed by the fact that they are sending me to an endocronologyst for my osteoarthritis (he's a Dr. who deals with systematic immune desiese) So I guess It is possible to have osteoarthritis in the immune system. I had never even heard of an endocronologyst. After doing some reading on the net I'm not very encouraged by what I read . Dr's tell you you dont have one thing then in their next breath you have 10 more problems to deal with. Good Luck

Yes, thank you. My mother has been suffering from arthritis for years an was just told she had osteoarthritis and was curios about it. Her dr told her pretty much the same thing.

Osteoarthritis is from repetitive joint usage. like someone who say is a carpenter that uses a hammer a lot, maybe his shoulder and elbow or wrist will get osteoarthritis over time from repeating the same movement over many years.  Rheumatoid arthritis is a disease where the immune system sends signals to certain types of cells that normally would fight an infection but insteads sends them out to attack the joints  thinking the joint and surrounding synovial tissue is like a foreign substance or infection in your body and wants to do it's job and get rid of it. Did that help any?
