High CPK in ankylosing spondylitis patient

by Ryann4654, Dec 12, 2008 05:50PM
I am 27 year old female who has spondylitis.  I recently went in for lab work and my cpk level was at 2000.  For about a month I have been working out with a trainer and in the last couple of days my right hip as been bothering me.  I am getting retested in a couple of days.  My question is on what having a cpk at 2000 means and is it possible that Im just sore from working out.  Also I thought that I should mention I was a college athlete so working out at an intense level is not uncommon for me.
Thank you
Ryann

I am glad you are going in for a follow up.  A high CPK could mean a lot of different things but needs to be investigated by a doctor.
