It's hard to say, but if it's only one joint that's giving you a problem, my guess is you've injured it somehow and need to have it looked at by a doctor, and possibly get an x-ray.
There is a possibility it's something like osteo-arthritis (the wear and tear type), especially if you've had an injury to that knee in the past, or if you have some kind of congenital defect that makes the bones not fit together like they should.
But as I said, there's no way to tell without seeing your doctor.
