I am so sorry you are having to deal with this.I am watching my husband
go through almost the very exact same thing. He woke up one morning
back in March of this year and could not close either hand and was in
excruciating pain.Since then it has traveled to his knees and feet and
is now working on his shoulders. His GP thought maybe it was gout at
first but I was not convinced since we know of someone with it in his
big toe.My husbands hands were not very swollen he said it just felt
like someone was beating them with a hammer. He says everything feels
like it is broken. He has had all blood work done xrays on hands and EEG
to he help rule out anything in particular.I hope you both find the answers
and I will post his results from Rheumatologist next week
Hi,
What initial diagnostic tests were done? Joint pain can be caused by a variety of issues such as autoimmune diseases, gout, osteoarthritis, tendinitis and infections caused by a virus, such as Epstein-Barr viral syndrome, Hepatitis, Influenza or Lyme disease. If the initial tests were negative, further evaluation and additional diagnostic tests including CBC or blood differential, c reactive protein and autoimmune tests may need to be done. Another specialist's opinion may also help. Take care and do keep us posted.
