Is this a yeast infection or herpes? HELP!

I had unprotected sex once with a guy on April 10th of this year. Completely ridiculous, I know! I have been crying out of guilt since the day it happened! This last week and a half, I have been having a burning sensation when I pee. I have been feeling sensitivity/irritation in my clitoral area. I have also been having sudden slight pains in my pelvic area and lower back, but this may due to my period since it should be coming in a couple of days and I always get PMS symptoms about a week before. I have had no sort of strange vaginal discharge, or any ulcers/sores/blisters as far as I can see. I do have two very tiny pimples on my left butt cheek, one tiny pimple on my chest, and one very tiny one on my right thigh. Could this be a UTI, a yeast infection, or is there a high chance of it being genital herpes? I think I am losing my mind! I was first terrified of having acquired HIV for absolutely no reason. I had a little rash on my back so I started freaking out. I had an HIV test done at 9 weeks and it came out negative. Now, when I finally get over the anxiety of that, I am now getting anxiety over having contracted Herpes. Someone please help! I need some peace of mind! Thank you!

Hi and thanks for using the forum.

First, we can only learn from our mistakes, we cannot go back and change them, so stop beating yourself up over this.  In the future, you can use this experience as a reminder to always be careful- I doubt that you will easily forget how scared and nervous you are right now.  Your symptoms can be caused by a number of things including a UTI, yeast infection (although most people do have some discharge with a yeast infection) or it could be an STD.  The best thing for you to do is to see your OB/GYN.  Explain your symptoms and that you had unprotected sex.  Your doctor can do a urine test for a UTI, check for a yeast infection, and also test for STD's.  You can get this done in one shot, and not be worried once you are cleared for one thing, about having another- it can all be tested together.  Hopefully this gives you some peace of mind.  Good Luck.
