Why+are+my+periods+are+very+irregular

I+was+always+very+irregular+periods.i+started+my+first+at+17+years+old.+Went+to+regular+appointments++and+the+doctors+never+said+anything.my+period+comes+every+6mos++or+more.my+question+is+why+are+my+periods+so+irregular%3F

Hi and thanks for using the forum.

I don't know why your doctor did not address this when you saw him/her but I think you need to go back and discuss it with them.   There are medications that you can take to help regulate your period but it is important to find out why they are irregular.  

Stress, weight loss, or low body weight can make your period irregular.  Also, a condition called PCOS.  If you are trying to conceive, irregular periods can affect your fertility.  Good luck.

Hi.  I'm not the nurse but I know that periods can be affected by various factors.  Diet and exercise are just two.

I'm not sure why your doctors didn't follow it up.  Decreased periods, from memory, can lead to brittle bones and even issues with fertility.
