itchy and discharge after sex

please be patient with me, it means alot to me.. i just had discharge again (whitish, yellowish fluffy fluidy stuff, no off smell yet) and a bit itchy-i immediately wash myself with baking soda+water (not sitz bath) and pat dried result: it relieved me from itchiness and no discharge till now. it all started 3days ago when i had sex with my bf , both of us are monogamous, this has never happened before; i remember that he was taking "clarinaise" for flu (he ate me out that time) the next day i could feel a burnnig sensation and slight itchiness on my private but i disregarded it since sometimes i would normally get an occassional small cuts/tore after we had sex prolly due to lack of lubrication or his just big. the second day i noticed a fluidy discharge so i did my research and thought it was CV since i've been experiencing the same thing for the past 4-5months but not consistently that usually lasted for 2days so i was washed myself with baking soda 2x yesterday and loading myself with alkaline foods (no more discharge of any form and itchiness). then today, after i ate pasta, coffee and took my vitamins-i had discharge again but this time with the cheese-like fluffy stuff-as i said earlier, i washed myself with water and baking soda. early last year i had bacterial vaginosis due to over usage of feminine wash and douching-i made sure i am not doing the same mistakes again so this time-this puzzled me. i've been on pills and its 4 more left when it all started, i wanna think that its due to my hormonal changes since i've always get sick, itch down there or just anything a week before i get my period. please enlighten me on this matter.

Hi and thanks for using the forum.

What you have described sounds like a yeast infection.  There are some over the counter treatments for yeast infections that you can try.  If the symptoms persist, you will have to see either your regular doctor or your ob/gyn.  Sometimes yeast infections don't clear up with the vaginal treatment and an oral treatment is needed as well.

I am not really sure about the baking soda and water wash.  You should ask your doctor about this as well.  I am not sure if that is helping or hurting things.  You are correct in avoiding feminine washes and douches- these types of products can disrupt the natural flora in your body and cause an infection.  Good luck.
