When I blow my nose blood comes out this has been going on for 2 weeks or so. I went to the ER because I was having chest pains, dizziness and shortness of breath. They couldn't tell me what it was. It is still very hard to breath through my nose. They x-rayed my chest and said it looked fine...Would brain bleeding cause these symptoms...what should I do please help...i'm only 25.

Thankyou for taking the time to answer the question...I appriciate it alot.but when i got to the ER the EKG said that I had an irregular heartbeat....and my chest gets very tight sometimes. And all blood tests came back as negative for infection but the problem persists.,,sometimes it feels like my heart is about to stop. Would a sinus ct scan show something blood tests wouldn't?

Hi and thanks for using the forum.

If you are having a lot of nasal congestion, it is not uncommon to have some bleeding when blowing your nose.  The nasal passages become irritated and can bleed.  Frequenly blowing your nose and/or using medicated nasal sprays can also cause bleeding.  I don't think that this has anything to do with a bleed in your brain, so try not to worry about that.  You might want to try a saline nasal spray.  This can moisten the nostrils.  Also, a hot steamy shower can sometimes help clear your nasal passages a bit.  Finally, if the congestion persists, you should see your regular doctor to be sure that you don't have a sinus infection.  Hope this helps.  Good luck.
