period for over a year

i am 21 years old, married, never been pregnant but i have had my period since 12th of feb 2009.. at the beginning the doc said i had a miscarriage and the bleeding would stop, but it didnt, and sadly i had to relocate.. now my recent doc says that i have a small cyst on my ovaries, but she didnt give me any options to stop it or get rid of it, and the bleeding has just gotten worse, its really heavy non stop bleeding.. if i wear a tampon i have to change it after just one hour.. im really annoyed at it and i want it to stop, please please give me a idea of what i can request from my doc. i dont want to do anything that will stop my chances of getting pregnant in the future..

I am not really sure, but one possibility is endometriosis or possibly a fibroid.

HI and thanks for using the forum.

I think you may need to either go back to your doctor and explain that you are still bleeding and ask what can be done about that.  IF you don't get a response from him/her, I think you need to get a second opinion.  I think you should try posting this question on the Fertility/Infertility Expert Forum.  Dr. Brown if great and can point you in the right direction regarding protecting your fertility.  Good Luck.
