i had mirena in for 3 years, got it removed on Nov.2,2009. Conceived on Nov. 4,2009.I am now 6 months pregnant with my 3rd child and no complications whatsoever. So YES you can get pregnant quickly and it is completely safe:)

Did you happen to have any spotting at all when it was first removed? Or did you have periods while on Mirena? I had mirena removed 5/19 no periods while on it and had a positive Ovulation test at 5/23 so I'm now waiting to see if pregnant but have had a dark brown spotting very light the last few days. Took a test today- neg but I think it is early 8 DPO

I had my mirena in for just under 3 yrs...had it taken out dec '09, and still have not conceived.  I don't know why.  I've done ovulation tests, and i know i ovulate, but still no pregnancy.

I know that women who decide to become pregnant while they are on Mirena can simply have it remove and start trying right away.  I have read many articles about women getting pregnant within a month of having Mirena removed.  So I would assume that it is possible.  However, three days is really fast.  I would take a pregnancy test just to be sure.
