Is there an antibiotic that treats both mychoplasma and sinusitis effectively

I either have sinusitis or M. Pneumoniae. The doctor says he's not sure.  I have been taking Azithromycin for 4 days. I have gotten worse. Still have fever and have developed nasal congestion with yellow discharge. ENT gave me Spectracef. I read that Spectracef does not treat mychoplasma.  So, is there an antibiotic that would treat both mychoplasma AND sinusitis incase I have one or both?

thanks.  My blood work showed I have mychoplasma and it manifested in a sinus infection. Azithromycin did nothing and has failed every time I have taken it for mychoplasma. Doxycycline worked and has been the only antibiotic that has ever gotten rid of mychoplasma for me or anyone I know who has had it. Most people I know who have had mycho say that Azithromycin was like taking a placebo and they either had to take Doxy or Leviquin to get rid of it. Maybe Mycho is getting resistant to Azithromycin because it's so over prescribed???

Sinusitis is the swelling and inflammation of the sinuses that may be caused by virus, bacteria, or fungus. Antibiotics are usually not needed for acute sinusitis. It is usually caused by a virus and will resolve in 7 to 14 days.   In certain situations your physician may decide that antibiotic therapy is appropriate. When an antibiotic is deemed necessary, Zithromax (azithromycin) is commonly used. Azithromycin is a macrolide antibiotic that is effective against M pneumonia.  But, if the sinusitis is caused by a fungus or virus azithromycin will not help. In some cases, sinusitis can last for several weeks before it resolves.  If the symptoms persist for longer than a few weeks your physician may refer you to an ear, nose, and throat specialist.
