Can bystolic cause muscle pain?

I started Bystolic about 3 months ago and have been having increasing pain in the right side of my neck, my right shoulder, right shoulder blade area, and upper right arm. I am also getting weakness in my right arm and hand.  If I turn my head in given direction the pain goes right to my right shoulger blade area.  The doc gave me muscle relaxers but they did nothing.  I also had an MRI done but it also showed nothing.
It does lower my heart rate, but the price of also lowrering my quality of life is too much to sacrifice.  I have had too many slepless night with uncontollable pain and discomfort.
Has anyone else had these symptoms?  And if so, what, if anything, did you do to stop the pain?

Why are you giving medical advice if you are not a doctor? I clicked on your name and got the answer, you are a pharmacist trying to get folks to your site in order to get them to renew their drugs with your company on line.  You are typical of the kinds of so called "Medical professionals" that have created an atmoaphere of distrust from folks like me that need advice from someone that cares more for their patients than for their pocketbooks. You are a disgrace to the medical field.

I started bystolic just over a month ago and have experienced nearly the exact symptoms that you described...but on my left side.  The pain became so severe that I I stopped the drug just 3 days ago and the pain is gradually subsiding.  Haven't had to take any pain medication since stopping the drug.  I was taking it as a beta blocker to prevent migraines, but the shoulder, neck and shoulder blade pain was more severe than the migraines.  Also, I was experiencing nightmares on a regular basis....causing me sleepless nights.
True, our symptoms are not listed as side effects, but we need to get the work out, as I have read that others have experienced the same pain.

I had an MRI and CTscan done. Doc said I had herniated disc in neck. Had painful operation but it is all coming back again. Take coservative route, physical therapy, pain management etc. Now I have 2 problems. When docs don't know what's wrong they choose to operate. I should have known better. Going to take NSAIDS on regular basis in hopes of bringing down the swelling. I am off all drugs! Was better off before. High BP is a matter of opinion as there is no normal, it changes from minute to minute. It is a big money maker for drug cos. and docs. Good luck....

I was put on Bystolic about 4 months ago when Benicar did not effectively control my B/P and occasional PVC's.  Since that time I have experienced increasingly severe chronic pain primarily in my right shoulder area (altho some in my left also) extending into the Trapezius and Bicep muscles. It is so severe that when I roll onto my side during the night it will awaken me in pain. I was about to ask to be worked up for arthritic degeneration of my shoulder when I started doing some research on the web and fournd this forum. I know that Bystolic is a relatively new formulation (not available in generic) and as such ALL of it's effects may not yet be entirely known in a wider propulation. I am not on any other RX meds and I hope that by using this venue something more may be learned of this possible phonemenon. It IS effectively controlling my symptoms and I hope that the pain will either subside so I can continue to take it, or whether I'll have to try another med.  If anyone learns anything more about this please post it.

Muscle pain is not listed as a side-effect of Bystolic. Please discuss this with your physician.  Maybe he or she would be willing to change your medication or prescribe something to help with the pain.
