Actually, there are a couple of syrup bronchodilators available. Albuterol, Theophylline, and Alupent (Metaproterenol) are all available in a syrup.
Another option would be to try some Guaifenesin. It is available over the counter, and may help your coughing. There is likely to be a liquid version available, but I'd recommend asking your doctor about it first. Good luck! I hope you feel better!
Hi, I'm a mom to two asthmatics and not a professional, but I don't see why your Doctor wouldn't give you the liquid. However, he may require an office visit to be certain all is okay .. just my 2 cents.
